How to Care for Spring Bouquet Viburnum
How to Plant:
Dig a hole twice as wide and just as deep as the container.
Gently remove the plant from the pot and loosen the roots if they're compacted.
Place the plant in the hole so the top of the root ball is level with the soil surface.
Backfill with well-draining soil and press gently to eliminate air pockets.
Water thoroughly after planting, then add 1–2 inches of mulch around the base.
Where to Plant:
Plant in full sun to partial shade (at least 4–6 hours of sunlight daily).
Prefers well-drained soil but can tolerate a range of soil types.
Great for foundation plantings, borders, or small hedges.
Allow 3 to 5 feet between plants to accommodate mature spread.
Watering:
Water 2–3 times per week for the first few months after planting.
Once established, water during extended dry periods.
Keep soil evenly moist but not soggy—avoid overhead watering to prevent leaf issues.
Maintenance:
Fertilize in early spring with a balanced, slow-release fertilizer.
Prune lightly after flowering to shape or remove dead branches.
Watch for aphids or powdery mildew; treat promptly if needed.
Refresh mulch each year and remove weeds around the base for best results.
